Microsoft Exchange Server 2019
Hosted email server for businesses
Work smarter with business-class email and calendaring
Microsoft Exchange Server 2019 is designed to deliver security, performance, and improved administration and management capabilities; attributes their largest on-premises customers expect from Exchange. Unlike other Office Server 2019 products such as SharePoint and Skype for Business, it can only be deployed on Windows Server 2019. One of the key features of the new release is that Exchange Server can be deployed onto Windows Server Core for the first time. Additionally, Microsoft has retired the Unified Messaging feature of Exchange, meaning that Skype for Business on-premises customers will have to use alternative solutions for voicemail, such as Azure cloud voicemail.
Top Features
-
Performance
They’ve done significant work to allow Exchange Server to take advantage of larger core and memory-packed systems available in the market today. With the improvements, Exchange Server can use up to 48 processor cores and 256GB of RAM. Also re-engineered search using Bing technology to make it even faster and provide better results, and in doing so have made database failovers much faster, and administration easier.
-
End user experience
All rely on Exchange for calendaring and know large enterprises are heavy calendar users. They are bringing a few key features such as restricting the forwarding of meeting requests and better control over OOF settings to Exchange Server 2019. Administrators get some new calendaring features too, as they’re adding the ability to manage events on users’ calendars and assign delegate permissions more easily.
-
Security
Exchange Server 2019 installed on Windows Server 2019 Core provides the most secure platform for Exchange. You also have the option of installing Exchange 2019 onto Windows Server 2019 with Desktop Experience, but they have worked hard to make sure running Exchange on Server Core is the best choice for the code.
