Natural Gas
MidAmerican Energy proudly serves 774,000 natural gas customers in Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, and South Dakota. We safely operate more than 13,000 miles of natural gas systems, including 12,800 miles of natural gas distribution lines and equipment.
Wind Energy
- MidAmerican has over 7,000 megawatts of clean, renewable energy generated from more than 3,300 turbines spread across Iowa. Our wind farms generate enough electricity to power over 2.3 million average households each year. We're also exploring new technologies – like battery storage – to make wind energy go further.
Solar Energy
- MidAmerican Energy supports all forms of renewable energy, including solar. All of our solar energy projects feature single-axis tracking, which means they move from east to west throughout the day to follow the sun and help generate more electricity.

- As one of the most affordable types of energy, electricity is used around the globe to power homes and businesses alike. MidAmerican Energy serves more than 795,000 electric customers with safe, reliable service in Iowa, Illinois, and South Dakota.
